Vivo is preparing to expand its Y-series lineup in India with another battery-focused smartphone.
The Vivo Y31t 5G is now listed on Vivo India's official website, confirming the phone for the Indian market and revealing most of its key specifications ahead of wider availability. (Vivo)
Its biggest attraction is easy to spot: a massive 7,200mAh BlueVolt battery packed into a phone that measures around 8.39mm thick.
7,200mAh Battery With 44W Charging
Battery life is clearly one of Vivo's priorities with the Y31t 5G.
The phone comes with a 7,200mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging. Vivo is also promoting an AI Sleep Mode designed to reduce unnecessary power consumption when the phone isn't being actively used. (Vivo)
That's a noticeable capacity increase over the existing Vivo Y31 5G, which uses a 6,500mAh battery with the same 44W charging capability. (Vivo)
For users who spend a lot of time streaming video, using social media or relying on mobile data throughout the day, the larger battery could be the Y31t's main selling point.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 120Hz Display
Under the hood, Vivo is using Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, a 4nm chipset designed for affordable 5G smartphones.
The phone features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1608 × 720 pixels. Reports based on Vivo's listing also point to a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 1,250 nits. (Vivo)
Storage options are expected to extend up to 256GB, while the phone uses UFS 2.2 storage.
One compromise is worth noting: despite the large screen and 120Hz refresh rate, this remains an HD+ LCD rather than a Full HD+ AMOLED panel.
That suggests Vivo is prioritising battery endurance, durability and everyday usability over display resolution.
50MP Camera and Strong Water Resistance
The Y31t 5G also features a 50MP main rear camera, accompanied by a secondary camera, while an 8MP camera handles selfies and video calls. Vivo's official page highlights the 50MP camera as another of the phone's main features. (Vivo)
Durability looks unusually strong for a Y-series phone as well.
The handset is listed with IP66 and IP68 protection, giving it resistance against dust and water under specified testing conditions. (91mobiles)
The phone is expected to run OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 out of the box.
Vivo Y31t 5G India Price Is Still Unknown
Although Vivo has now listed the Y31t 5G on its Indian website, the company hasn't announced its final India price or exact sale date yet. (Moneycontrol)
Earlier reports have suggested that the handset could target India's offline smartphone market, but any unofficial pricing should be treated cautiously until Vivo makes its retail plans public.
The Y31t also arrives at an interesting time for India's affordable smartphone market. Rising component and memory costs have been putting pressure on phone prices, making the balance between specifications and price increasingly important.
SpecFront has previously examined this trend in our article on why smartphone prices keep rising in 2026.
For the Vivo Y31t 5G, the 7,200mAh battery, 120Hz screen, 5G connectivity and IP66/IP68 protection give it a clear identity. The remaining question is whether Vivo can price that package aggressively enough to stand out in India's crowded mid-range market.
