Redmi has officially launched the K100 Pro Max in China, turning several of the pre-launch leaks into confirmed specifications — and the finished phone is every bit as hardware-heavy as expected.
The K100 Pro Max combines Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.9-inch 185Hz OLED display, a huge 9,070mAh battery and a triple-camera system led by a 200MP main sensor. Xiaomi's own store highlights the same combination of a 185Hz display, 9,070mAh battery, 200MP triple cameras and Sound by Bose audio. You can see the K100 Pro Max on Xiaomi's official China store.
That makes this less of a conventional “affordable Redmi flagship” and more of a phone trying to compete on performance, endurance, gaming and cameras at the same time.
Redmi K100 Pro Max Price in China
The Redmi K100 Pro Max launched with a starting price of CNY 4,499 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, equivalent to roughly ₹63,700 in direct currency terms based on launch reporting. Higher configurations extend to 16GB RAM and as much as 1TB of storage. 91mobiles reported the launch pricing and configurations following the China announcement.
Interestingly, Xiaomi's official Chinese store is currently displaying the K100 Pro Max from CNY 4,199, reduced from CNY 4,499, suggesting an early promotional price is already available in China.
There is no confirmed India launch for the Redmi K100 Pro Max as of August 14, so Indian buyers should not treat the converted China price as a likely India retail price.
6.9-Inch OLED Display Pushes Refresh Rate to 185Hz
The K100 Pro Max uses a large 6.9-inch flat OLED display with a 2608 × 1200 resolution and a 185Hz refresh rate.
185Hz is well above the 120Hz refresh rate now common on mainstream and flagship phones.
But that number needs some context.
A 185Hz panel does not mean every game will run at 185fps. Actual gaming frame rates still depend on the title, graphics settings, chipset performance and whether the game developer supports such high frame rates.
For everyday scrolling, 120Hz is already extremely smooth, so the 185Hz panel is likely to matter most as part of Redmi's gaming-focused positioning rather than as a dramatic upgrade for ordinary app use.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 With a Bigger Cooling System
Performance comes from Qualcomm's full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
Redmi has also fitted the K100 Pro Max with a 6,300mm² cooling system, significantly reinforcing the phone's gaming ambitions. The launch specifications reported by 91mobiles confirm the Snapdragon chipset and 6,300mm² cooling area.
That cooling hardware could ultimately matter more than a peak benchmark score.
Modern flagship processors can produce extremely high short-term performance, but sustained gaming depends heavily on how effectively a phone can remove heat. A large cooling system therefore gives the K100 Pro Max a better chance of maintaining performance through longer sessions.
Independent gaming tests will still be needed to see how well Redmi's implementation works in practice.
The 9,070mAh Battery May Be the Bigger Story
The most striking specification may not be the processor at all.
The Redmi K100 Pro Max packs a massive 9,070mAh battery, up considerably from the 7,560mAh capacity of the previous K90 Pro Max generation.

Redmi Is Taking Cameras More Seriously Too
Previous Redmi K-series phones have often prioritised raw performance over flagship-grade photography.
The K100 Pro Max appears to be pushing harder in the opposite direction.
Its triple rear-camera system includes a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera.
That is a much more versatile setup than simply pairing a high-resolution main sensor with inexpensive secondary cameras.
The periscope telephoto is particularly significant because it gives Redmi a more credible hardware foundation for longer-range photography.
The front camera is rated at 32MP.
Real-world image quality will still depend heavily on sensor tuning, processing and Xiaomi's camera software, so megapixel counts alone should not be treated as proof that it can match more photography-focused flagships.
Sound by Bose Adds an Unusual Audio Angle
Redmi has also worked with Bose on the phone's audio system.
Xiaomi describes the K100 Pro Max as featuring Sound by Bose tuning, while pre-launch material detailed a 2.1-style speaker arrangement. Xiaomi promoted the Bose collaboration before launch.
Smartphone audio rarely receives as much attention as cameras or displays, so the partnership is an interesting attempt to make the K100 Pro Max feel more complete as a multimedia device.

The K100 Pro Max also runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
That means Redmi is no longer relying purely on chipset and battery numbers to define its top K-series model.

What About India?
For Indian smartphone buyers, the main question is whether this exact Redmi model will ever be sold here.
For now, Redmi has not announced an India release for the K100 Pro Max.
That means rumours about a global rebrand should still be treated cautiously until Xiaomi or POCO makes an official announcement.
If this hardware — or something close to it — eventually reaches India under Redmi or POCO branding, pricing will determine whether it becomes a genuine alternative to performance flagships from OnePlus, realme, iQOO and other brands.
A direct conversion of CNY 4,499 should never be treated as the expected Indian selling price because local taxes, storage configurations and regional positioning can significantly change retail pricing.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max is interesting because there is no single specification carrying the entire phone.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 makes it a performance flagship.
The 185Hz display and large cooling system target gamers.
The 200MP + dual-50MP camera setup gives it more photographic ambition than many performance-focused phones.
And the 9,070mAh battery is the specification that could have the biggest impact on everyday use.
That battery also reinforces one of the clearest smartphone trends of 2026: extremely large capacities are moving from specialised devices into conventional premium phones.
The 185Hz refresh rate will attract attention, but most users are unlikely to notice the jump from 120Hz as clearly as they would notice substantially longer battery life.
For that reason, the K100 Pro Max's real headline may not be its record-looking display number or 200MP camera.
It may simply be that a Redmi performance flagship now carries a battery that is getting remarkably close to 10,000mAh.
Whether Indian buyers get access to that combination remains the unanswered part.
