Mobile gaming has had a busy August, with new puzzle adventures, anime RPGs and returning favorites arriving across Android and iOS.
Among the highlights this week are Rusty Lake’s latest adventure Servant of the Lake, the global launch of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit, and the standalone mobile return of Reigns: Beyond.
There are also several releases worth watching later in August and September, including Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom, Gangstar Mirage City, and the mobile version of Dave the Diver.
Here are some of the mobile games worth checking out right now.
Servant of the Lake Is Out Now
Rusty Lake has released Servant of the Lake, its latest point-and-click puzzle adventure.
The developer confirmed that the game is now available, continuing the distinctive surreal puzzle style associated with the Rusty Lake series. Rusty Lake announced the release through its official website.
Set at the Vanderboom estate in 1839, the game puts players in the role of a servant who becomes involved in a mysterious story filled with puzzles and the unsettling atmosphere Rusty Lake fans will immediately recognize.
Players familiar with games such as Cube Escape and Rusty Lake: Roots should feel at home here, while newcomers can expect a story-focused puzzle experience rather than a traditional action game.
Servant of the Lake is available across mobile platforms as well as PC.
Best for: Puzzle, mystery and story-driven game fans.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit Launches Globally
One of this week's biggest anime game releases is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit.
The game officially launched on August 13, 2026, and is available on Android and iOS across multiple countries and regions. JoJo-News confirmed the August 13 global release, while additional launch coverage confirms its international rollout.
Golden Spirit brings characters from six generations of the JoJo franchise together, covering the series from Phantom Blood through Stone Ocean.
Instead of focusing on a single JoJo era, players can assemble teams using characters from different generations.
Combat combines RPG mechanics with strategic battles, character progression and signature Stand abilities. Dynamic weather can also affect character abilities during combat.
The game had already generated significant interest before launch, with pre-registration reportedly crossing 2 million players ahead of release.
Golden Spirit uses a free-to-play model, so players can download the game without paying upfront, although in-app purchases are part of the experience.
Best for: JoJo fans, anime RPG players and players who enjoy character-collection games.
Reigns: Beyond Returns as a Standalone Mobile Game
Another notable August release is Reigns: Beyond.
Originally associated with Apple Arcade on mobile, the sci-fi card-based adventure has now returned as a standalone release.
Reports on August 12 confirmed that Reigns: Beyond had been released as a standalone mobile title.
The game takes the familiar decision-making system from the Reigns franchise into space.
Players travel across the galaxy as part of an intergalactic rock band, making decisions by swiping cards left or right. Those seemingly simple choices can have major consequences for the crew and their journey.
Its combination of strategy, humor and quick decision-making makes it particularly well suited to short mobile gaming sessions.
Best for: Strategy and narrative-game fans.
The Division Resurgence Expands on PC
Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is another game receiving attention this month, although its latest development extends beyond mobile.
Ubisoft confirmed that the free-to-play game became available on Steam on August 5, 2026. The official Division Resurgence website lists the Steam launch and the game's latest updates.
The expansion to Steam gives players another way to access the Division spin-off after its mobile release and PC availability through Ubisoft's ecosystem.
The Steam launch has not been universally well received, however. Early user reviews have been mixed, with criticism focusing on technical issues, progression systems and monetization.
For existing mobile players, the PC expansion nevertheless shows Ubisoft continuing to support and broaden the game's reach.
More Mobile Games Coming Soon
August isn't finished yet, and several additional mobile releases are scheduled or expected.
Gangstar Mirage City — August 20
Gangstar Mirage City is scheduled to launch on August 20, 2026, according to information published through the game's official pre-registration campaign.
The game is a multiplayer open-world action RPG and continues the Gangstar franchise with driving, combat, character progression and criminal empire-building.
The official Gangstar Mirage City pre-registration website references the August 20 launch.
For players looking for an open-world mobile game with cars, weapons and multiplayer elements, this could be one of the more interesting releases to watch this month.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom — August 26
Warhammer fans also have a mobile release approaching.
Apple's App Store currently lists Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom with an expected August 26, 2026 release date.
The game is described as a brutal retro-style FPS and is currently listed as a free release.
Its old-school shooter presentation could make it particularly appealing to players looking for something different from the RPG and strategy games that dominate many mobile storefronts.
Dave the Diver — September 17
One important schedule change concerns Dave the Diver.
Earlier information pointed toward an August mobile launch, but the release has since moved.
The iOS and Android versions are now scheduled for September 17, 2026, according to recent reports following an updated announcement from MINTROCKET.
The mobile version is expected to retain the core combination of underwater exploration, fishing and restaurant management that made the original game popular.
The interface and controls are also being adapted for touchscreen devices.
That makes Dave the Diver one of the more significant premium-style mobile ports to watch next month.
Which Mobile Game Is Worth Trying First?
For puzzle fans, Servant of the Lake is arguably the standout release this week, particularly for anyone already familiar with Rusty Lake.
Anime fans have a much bigger release in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Spirit, with its large character roster and free-to-play structure making it easy to try.
Meanwhile, Reigns: Beyond is worth considering for players who prefer shorter, decision-driven gaming sessions.
The next few weeks should remain busy as well. Gangstar Mirage City arrives on August 20, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Boom is expected on August 26, and Dave the Diver is now lined up for September 17.
