We've already covered the full lineup of six phones launching in India this month — here, it's worth separating what the brands have actually said from what's still leak territory, because only one of those categories is safe to plan a purchase around.
Here's the real status of every August 2026 launch, checked against each brand's own announcement.
Officially Confirmed by the Brand
Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G — August 3. Samsung put the launch date directly on its own India product page, alongside a Flipkart microsite confirming the retail channel, per AndroidPure. This is about as confirmed as a date gets before the actual event.
POCO M8 Power — August 4, 12 PM IST. POCO announced this through its own Flipkart microsite and social channels, going as far as naming the exact time, per TechTimes. The battery capacity and exclusivity to Flipkart were confirmed the same way.
Redmi Note 17 — August 6. Xiaomi announced the India date directly through its official X account, shortly after teasing the phone, per 91mobiles. The battery capacity (8,000mAh) was confirmed in the same announcement.
Google Pixel 11 series — August 12. Google sent official media invites naming the date, time (6 PM ET / 3:30 AM IST), and location (New York City) for its Made by Google event. Pre-order registration is already live on Google's India store, as reported by Fonearena, which is about as official as confirmation gets.
Leaked, Not Confirmed
Vivo S2 — "August 6" is a leak, not a Vivo announcement. This one's genuinely easy to mistake for confirmed, because Vivo has confirmed the S2 is coming and has already teased its design in official posts. But the August 6 date itself, along with an August 11 sales date, comes from tipsters and retailer-adjacent leaks — not from Vivo directly, per GSMArena's own reporting, which frames the date as a rumor even while confirming the phone's existence. Until Vivo posts its own announcement, treat the date as a well-sourced guess rather than a fact.
iQOO Z11 — no date at all yet. Unlike every phone above, iQOO hasn't even leaked a specific date for the Z11 — Digit.in's own coverage states plainly that iQOO "has not yet officially confirmed the launch date," with only a general expectation it arrives sometime in August, based on the pattern set by the earlier iQOO Z11 Lite launch. Everything about this one, including whether it launches in August at all, is still an educated guess.
Why the Distinction Actually Matters
Leaked dates move. Official ones occasionally slip too, but far less often, and almost never by more than a few days. If you're planning to be online the moment pre-orders open, or timing a purchase around a specific launch, the four brand-confirmed dates above are safe to build a plan around. The Vivo S2's August 6 window is a good bet, but keep a loose grip on it until Vivo says so itself. And if you're waiting specifically for the iQOO Z11, understand that you're waiting on a rumor with no fixed date attached — it could land in the first week of August or the last.
A simple rule of thumb for spotting the difference yourself: if the news cites the brand's own account, official press invite, or a product page carrying the brand's name, it's confirmed. If it cites "sources," a tipster's leak, or a retailer teaser without the brand's own statement, treat it as a leak — however confident the headline sounds.
